An experienced Psychiatrist, William Johns, MD previously operated a private practice in Florida that provided personalized treatments for children, adolescents, and adults. Dr. William Johns demonstrated superior human behavioral management skills while providing expert treatments to his diverse patient population. While operating his private practice, Dr. William Johns joined the Center for Emotional and Behavioral Health. Earlier in his career, he gained experience as a research assistant for clinical trials at the University of South Florida and a patient care trainee at Shriner’s Hospital for Children.
Dr. William Johns participated in a range of research projects over the course of his career in the medical field. From 2002 to 2005, he engaged in a project regarding risk and sensation seeking among surfers in Hawaii as part of a psychiatric fellow research project. From 2004 to 2005, he served as a member of the program study team for the Mars Homestead Project. His past research experience also includes presenting a study as a poster presentation at the annual meeting of the American Psychosomatic Association. While active as a Psychiatrist, he held a license in the State of Florida and achieved an affiliation with the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.
Educated at the University of South Florida, Dr. Johns earned his Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry in 1993 and completed work toward a Master of Business Administration. Continuing his education at the University of South Florida College of Medicine, he earned his Doctor of Medicine in 1998. He went on to complete a General Psychiatry Residency and a Child & Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship at the University of Hawaii.
