While attending Atlanta’s Emory University, Maral Cavner had the opportunity to appear in roles in feature films such as Anchorman: The Legend Continues, Prisoners, and The Hunger Games: Catching Fire. In May 2013, Maral Cavner graduated from Emory University with a bachelor of arts in sociology with highest honors.
In the second installment of the popular The Hunger Games trilogy, The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, Maral Cavner appears in the film with stars Jennifer Lawrence and Woody Harrelson as a woman fighting with the Capitol guards. In Anchorman: The Legend Continues, starring Steve Carrell, Will Ferrell, and Paul Rudd, she portrays a “hot” coffee shop patron. In Prisoners, alongside stars Jake Gyllenhaal and Hugh Jackman, she portrays a woman who witnesses a crime.
Beyond academics and appearing in bit roles, Maral Cavner devoted much of her time at Emory University as a leader and mentor. While in school, she served as a student ambassador, senior peer mentor for the school’s department of sociology and a tutor for Emory Reads. Ms. Cavner also functioned as a public relations chair and alumni relations chair for the Delta Alpha chapter of Alpha Delta Pi sorority.
